We are often asked if we make handmade coffee tables and it's a question that often frustrates us. We don't mass produce but we do use tools as well as basic machinery. Each solid oak coffee table is made by a skilled craftsman, it's his job from start to finish, there is no production line. Whether this constitutes 'handmade' or not, we'll leave it to others to decide.
We work with a local French polisher who has a wealth of experience. He can achieve any type of finish. So if you see an oak coffee table with a finish that you like but doesn't appear on our site, please send us a picture - we can usually achieve a similar finish.
Over recent decades we have seen a lurch towards lower quality mass produced furniture, which may well look good in a showroom but it doesn't tend to last. Most people are quite happy with this. To many, furniture doesn't need to last, it'll be out of fashion before it falls apart and they'll buy a new piece anyway. We tend to deal with people who want something better, people who know good stuff when they see it and know what real value is.

The truth is that we're able to produce quality at a good price because we have hardly any overheads and we deal direct with the customer, not a series of middle men.
